With a background as an anthropologist and a life spent traveling across the U.S. and overseas, he has gathered rich experiences that fuel his writing. He’s an avid reader and writer, diving into social science non-fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, and horror to create stories that captivate and inspire.

When SJ isn’t crafting tales, he’s often found making mead, cruising on his motorcycle, or indulging his love for medieval weapons. A passionate tabletop RPG player and an active member of the metaphysical community, he enjoys connecting with people and exploring the mysteries of life.

SJ’s novel, After the Enchanting, imagines an alternate history of North America where magic reawakens and changes the course of history. Packed with wizards, goblins, dragons, steampunk vibes, and slow-burn romance, it’s a thrilling blend of fantasy and historical intrigue. The sequel is set for release in 2025.

In addition to fiction, SJ is the author of River Falls, a poetry collection that reflects on love, longing, and the search for the Divine. His heartfelt and wry verses invite readers to find connection and meaning in their own lives.
